AsusAsus is a name you may not have heard of when you talk about PDA’s. Asus is a company in Tawain that keeps growing as they slowing introduce new products. Lets take a look at one of their products. The Asus MY Pal A730 is one of their older models but sure doesn’t skimp on quality. This Asus PDA has a very powerful processor at 520 MHZ and can take care most of all the applications that you may run into. The My Pal doesn’t stop there though as they made sure you had plenty of extras. A 1.3 megapixel digital camera was also added so you could take that quick picture if you needed to.Many PDA’s now have the digital camera, but many still don’t, I think it should be standard on all PDA’s. Other option on this Asus is the option of adding memory cards to expand you’re My Pal even more. I think this is also important as when you buy certain PDA’s expansion is a problem. You don’t have to worry about this Asus PDA as they have taken care of that problem. As for wireless communications the My Pal A730 offers the usual infra-red, Blue tooth 802.11b. This is the standard any more on most PDA’s that are being released. One of the things I don’t like is the small battery life of the battery that comes with it. Between eight and nine hours are the limits for the A730. With a weight of only 170g this is a light model and small enough where you can toss it in your pocket with no problem. I will admit that the newer PDA’s may have something on this older model Asus My Pal A 730 but you should be able to find one a t a good price. Asus makes sure that for your money you get a lot. I wish I could say that for a lot of other companies who skimp on software and add on’s. If your looking for a affordable PDA you may want to try a Asus PDA and find out what many people in Tawain already know they are a great buy. Hopefully we will get more and more of these great little devices and that will make their competition step up and improve their offerings
