Garmin iQue 3200Garmin Ltd. is known to be one of the key players in GPS monitoring systems; founded by a pair of guys who both believed the future of aviation technologies and logistics lie in GPS monitoring, they have since gone on to introduce and distribute an entire line of GPS systems for both home, aviation, scientific, and military use.Garmin iQUE 3200 was advertised as “a smart way to navigate your day,” and included an organizer, calendar, contacts, to-do lists, memo pad, and of course the GPS satellite navigation systems which made Garmin famous. The iQUE 3200 ran on the Palm OS 5 operating system and was embedded with not only GPS, but also infrared communications and a vibrating alarm. The iQUE 3200 ran a 200 MHz Motorola DragonBall MXL ARM 9 processor and came with 32 MB internal SDRAM. There was also an SD expansion slot for SD/MMC cards as well as an audio speaker as part of the internal system. On a unit like the iQUE 3200 there were some standard applications both from the Garmin unit itself as well as from the Palm OS and other third party applications that were included on the iQUE 3200. Some of these applications include: GPS clock, address lookup, electronic mapping, track log, trip computer, automatic route generation, turn-by-turn voice guidance, address book, calculator, date book, memo pad, to do list, mail systems, as well as various other games and applications. Some of the iQUE 3200’s built in, moving map features include things like a Basemap which has state and country boundaries, water body reference, as well as noticeable landmarks such as airports, interstate highways, coastlines, and the individual city to city, town to town maps and local thoroughfares and secondary roads within the metro areas. There is also a CD-ROM which can get more specific street-level information including things like area restaurants, hotels, ATM’s and so much more. If you’re looking for navigation features, the iQUE 3200 has fully calculated, turn by turn directions using their built in features combined with the local CD ROM. You can download and store up to 50 routes in the iQUE 3200 with up to 50 points per route. There is also an odometer which is able to be reset, timers, and so much more in the iQUE 3200’s trip computer. As a leader in GPS technology the Garmin iQUE3200 has many fine cases, including aluminum cases available for your perusal. While I see not much evidence of batteries available for the Garmin 3200 online, you should be able to locate replacement materials on an auction site or any used CPU location; in addition you should be able to locate any follow up materials from the Garmin company themselves.
