Garmin iQue M3Garmin iQUE M3 was an excellent tool which offered navigation at your fingertips. The M3 offered many different products from other model Garmin’s and showed the companies continued attempts at adapting in this otherwise unfriendly market. It is no surprise that cell phones, computers, the internet, and GPS became synonymous. Consumers all want to know where things are and where they stand, in a figurative sense as well as a literal sense. With small fanfare and for a short while, we introduced the Garmin iQUE M3. Garmin iQUE M3 was a PDA which ran on the Windows Mobile 2003 OS and featured Gamin’s QUE technology for GPS and mapping solutions. This model GPS ran on a much more effective Intel PXA 271 Xscale processor with 312 MHz. Gamin’s iQUE M3 ran with an internal memory of 64MB RAM. On a unit like the iQUE M3 there were numerous more standard applications both from the Garmin unit itself as well as from the Windows operating system that were included on the iQUE M3. Some of these applications include: Microsoft Pocket Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Windows Media Player, MSN Messenger, Calculator, ActiveSync, among many, many others. iQUE’s unit size may have been one of its greatest assets as well as one of its downfalls. It was small with only 2.8” width x 5” height, so it was small enough to fit in any traveler’s front pocket or in a snug spot on an automobiles dash. It’s weight a mere 5.9 oz was also a huge plus for travelers weighed down not only by bags, but other work related mumbo jumbo, the small size of the M3 was a blessing. The display screen however, was a little bit bigger than previous models checking in at 3.5” diagonal. This wide view combined with transflective TFT and an impressive 64K color made the M3 competitive with other makes and models. iQUE M3 like many of its brethren offers turn by turn directions using their built in features. With its voice recorder, you can make memos while driving or take quick notes either before you leave like “make it easy on yourself and only take your car as far as Westchester; then take the train into Manhattan; trains leave every 20 minutes until 3AM and parking is a nightmare!” so you’re sure to make it to your destination on time. Garmin iQUE M3 came equipped with a 1250-mAh removable, replaceable lithium-polymer battery which only delivered 5-7 hours of PDA usage; fortunately though you could carry a spare for long trips away from an outlet. The Garmin website also says that despite the fact that this model has been discontinued, they continue to support this model and offer supplemental products and services for your added convenience
