HitachiHitachi has never been one to rest on there own accomplishments or follow what everyone else is doing. Many companies want to be leaders in what they do and Hitachi is one of those. The new Hitachi PDA/Smart phone is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. The Hitachi G1000 isn’t a model that will fit in your shirt pocket like a lot of these PDA/smart phones that have been made by other companies. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having a small size PDA/smart phone it’s just, this model isn’t based on that concept. The G1000 is almost twice as big as most PDA/smart phones.Don’t let the big size scare you away as this unit has a lot of great things going for it. Some of my favorite items are the built-in digital camera that is included and surprisingly takes very good pictures. The key board is big in size and makes it very easy to send a text message and emails. The G1000 comes with a 400MHZ processor for great speed when you need it. Other smart phone /PDA have higher processors but you usually have to pay more for them. Hitachi has a nice case for the G1000 a two-tone silver and black case makes it stand out when you show it off to your friends. The Hitachi PDA battery is replaceable in the G1000 which in my opinion is a great feature because you can always carry an extra one with you if needed. The G1000 has several other things I like such as the transflective screen which makes it easy to read the display. Excellent voice quality and the wireless connections are always a plus in my book. The software bundle has some nice programs with it and most consumers will be happy with it. An audio adapter included also makes it possible to play MP3 files back. Probably the greatest part though is the keyboard which will give those email addicts an easier way to send and keep in touch with their favorite friends and contacts. Business people especially will love that part of the Hitachi G1000. Some of the drawbacks are the price it will run you between 600-700 dollars. Being it’s only available on the Sprint PCS network could be a drawback to people to. All things considered though it isn’t that bad of a PDA/smart phone from Hitachi.
